Apple Testing iPhone 6, iOS 7?

iOS 7 Concept.
Shortly after the new year, a developer's log confirmed that the 2013 iPhone and iOS 7 have been spotted on several devices in the wild. This is obviously huge news for iOS users and fans after a disappointing iOS 6 launch. According to TheNextWeb reports, "One developer showed us that Apple has been testing hardware relating to a new 'iPhone6,1´ identifier, powered by a device running iOS 7, which is expected to be released by Apple in the middle part of this year."

Is Apple testing the iPhone 6 and iOS really a big deal though? Yes and no. Because iOS 6 debuted with little change from iOS 5, fans of iOS felt Apple rested on their laurels. However, with Jony Ive at the helm, there is good reason for optimism. Honestly, iOS 6 sucked. The only reason iOS 6 is good is because of iOS 5. All signs point to a bright future for iOS in 2013

On the iPhone side of things, there is less to be excited about. Unless you skipped the iPhone 5 upgrade, the new iPhone 6 more than likely will be slightly underwhelming.  Much like the iPhone 3GS and 4S before, the next generation iPhone will likely be an incremental update. What is the new iPhone really going to bring to the table? At best, the new iPhone might bring a slightly better battery, maybe twice as fast (A7 processor), and a better a camera.

Overall, if you didn't jump on board with the iPhone 5 or if you are looking forward to an updated iOS, this is really exciting news. So what do you think? Is this exciting news at all? Or do you feel like Apple has lost their touch? Let us know in the comment box below or on our Facebook page. Happy Wednesday and Peace Apple Nation!

    1. With the iPad having 128 gig storage option, I would not be surprised at all if the next iPhone had storage options of 32 gig, 64 gig, and 128 gigs.
