Is Apple Prepping for an iPad with 128 GB of Storage?

Still waiting for that 128 GB iOS Device? Well you might not be waiting much longer. According to 9to5Mac, Cupertino is preparing to add a new SKU to its fourth-generation tablet line up, slotting next to the existing 16GB, 32GB and 64GB configurations as a premium model.

9to5Mac could not confirm that the description meant that Apple is indeed planning on releasing an iPad with 128 GB of storage. However, the assumption seems reasonable enough -- developers are finding references to 128GB iOS devices in iOS 6.1 beta code, and icons for the size were found in iTunes 11. Furthermore, Apple has used the terms "good," "better" and "best" to describe different iPad configurations in the past so ultimate seems like the next logical step.

The rumors of an iOS device with 128 GB of storage are nothing new. However, this is first time that there have been back to back sitings of a 128 GB device in iTunes and iOS. With the iPad being updated back in October, analysts have been wondering what Apple might unveil in the month of March. The month of March has historically been when Apple has showcased a new iPad. Adding an iPad with a 128 GB of storage would be the exact kind of product Apple should and will release this coming March.
