Ok, so you got your new shiny new iPhone and you want a case on it to protect it, and rightfully so. Since Apple opted for a redesign (sort of), no one has a case for their brand new iPhone 5 that they can just slap on the second they buy it.  After I purchased my new iPhone, I knew exactly what case I wanted. But what about other cases out there? Here are the top cases for the new iPhone 5!

1. Lifeproof iPhone 5 case. This thing is life proof, its a lot like the otterbox in many ways, but it is waterproof as well. If your looking for total protection, this case is for you. However there is only one negative to it, and that is the price which is at a steep $69.95 online and thats a lot of money on just a case. However, the first time you drop your iPhone, that $70 bucks won't feel so bad, I promise! If you need total protection from everything, look no further. Price: $79.95
2. Otterbox Defender for iPhone 5. This case is built specifically for the iPhone 5 which means the case is stretched a bit and is a little bit thinner, with the headphone cover on the bottom. All of this is standard iPhone 5 stuff. Other than that, the only real changes from the iPhone 4S case and the iPhone 5 case is the silicon rubber case around the Otterbox's hardshell which seems less sticky, which is good for pockets and seems less likely to stretch out and wear out as well. Price: $49.95
3. Case-mate Barely There Case. This is basically what the name claims, its almost not there and gives you decent coverage without feeling any coverage. Whats even better? It comes in 21 colors and is really cheap for an iPhone case. Price: $24.99
4. Otterbox Commuter Case for iPhone 5. Yes, I am back on the Otterbox bandwagon only because they offer some great cases that are hard to match. This is basically a really slimmed down version of the Otterbox Defender case with lots of protection minus a screen protector on it. All in all, another solid case. Price: $34.95
