Why the iPhone 5S Will Blow you Away!

The rumors for the iPhone 5S have been heating up lately and with those rumors, a thousand “Apple is dead” have been flying in. Before anyone freaks out to defend or bash Apple for the iPhone 5S, lets take a look at what the S update actually is.

When you look at the iPhone, Apple has never been the company to start the race in first. Apple was never the first company to have a touch screen smartphone, they were never the first company to have an App Store built into the phone, and they weren’t the first company to add 3G or video recording to a phone. What makes Apple great is that when they add features, they make them great and useful, not just a feature that you brag about that you don’t use.

I have heard and read so much from people groaning about Apple being predictable, dead, and lacking innovation from a phone Apple has yet to announce and may not ever announce. The perception is that if Apple releases another iPhone that looks the same on the outside and is only marginally better on the inside, both Apple and the iPhone 5S will fail which is just an asinine thought process.

Looking back at the history of the iPhone, understanding where the iPhone was will help you understand where the iPhone is going. With the original iPhone, the device lacked 3G capabilities which is why Apple released the 3G just under a year later. They released the iPhone 3G because the technology was finally ready and mainstream which is the key, it was ready and mainstream.

With the release of the iPhone Apple added video recording, better processor, and overall speed. The 3GS was a remarkably better device than the 3G. Just look at the 3GS, even to this day it runs a version of iOS 6 years after it initially released. With the iPhone 4S, Apple added Siri, better and faster processor, better camera, and overall speed. Much like the iPhone 3GS, the iPhone 4S was a vast improvement over the iPhone 4 and will be an industry standard for years.

So what does that mean for the potential iPhone 5S? Apple, even if it does release an iPhone 5S that looks the same as the iPhone 5, that doesn’t mean certain and imminent doom for the big fruit company. Relax, with every iteration of the iPhone, Apple always makes an iPhone update worthwhile. Just because the rumored iPhone 5S could potentially look the same as the iPhone 5, that doesn’t mean Apple has lost their step or  given up on innovation.
