This won't be a long, drawn out, piece at all. Basically put, an iWatch makes a lot of sense. The expectations of Apple, fair or not, are that they should be pushing out revolutionary devices every couple of years. The question has been asked for what seems a million times already and that is, what is Apple going to do next? Is it the iTV and iWatch? I believe an iWatch is coming, sooner rather than later.
The iWatch makes a lot of sense when you think about it. Apple loves to have devices connected, seamlessly (so they say). The iWatch could be that communication device that relays important information and connects you with your iPhone, iPod, iPad, and Mac. There have been plenty of times my iPad is in my backpack, my iPhone is in my pocket, and my Mac is at home when I get an iMessage or FaceTime chat. I have to dig to find my device while ringing or buzzing like mad. With an iWatch, all I have to do is touch my watch and boom, there is my FaceTime or Phone call. Better yet, there is my important email or text message from a colleague right on my phone, so I know to get my iPhone or iPad out and respond to the alert.

The counter argument is that no one wears watches and the only people that would wear an iWatch are Apple enthusiasts. With the advent of smartphones, the need for watches has tremendously decreased. Because so few people wear a watch, people have been trained to look at a phone and not a watch. So whats the point? I could pull my phone out without the need of an iWatch for a notification, phone call, etc. Who needs an iWatch?
While the counter argument makes sense, look at the AppleTV. The AppleTV has been a side project, a "hobby." This shows Apple isn't worried about creating a great product to bolster the ecosystem if they are confident that the device adds depth and functionality to their line up. Because of this, I believe Apple will make an iWatch.
So what do you think? Will Apple make an iWatch? Or is this just a fake rumor to boost stocks? Let us know in the Forums or on our Facebook page. Don't forget to check out the latest podcasts with an all new MacBreak Weekly and iFive for the iPhone!
