Well, I thought I had seen it all with Apple. Apparently not. Reports are coming in that a company in Brazil plans on throwing the gauntlet down on Apple, especially the iPad 4. Why? Because they are claiming that Apple released the new iPad on purpose to make other iPads obsolete. According to MacMagazine.com.br:
Well thats just fantastic! I am so glad that some company feels entitled and offended enough to complain about Apple doing this. Just one small question, where have you been all of these years? Apple has a pattern of doing this. When I bought my Macbook Pro in February of 2011, Apple had just updated the Macbook Pro line with Sandy Bridge processors and Thunderbolt ports. That fall, Apple updated their Macbook Pro line again with spec bumps only to drop my version of the Macbook Pro to the refurb section of the Apple store. Honestly, this is one is a laughable lawsuit. Grow up or don't buy Apple products if you are so upset. I see nothing wrong with what Apple did with the iPad.
So what do you think? Is this actually something Brazil should fight? Or is this something that is petty at best? Let us know in the Forums or on our Facebook page! Also, don't forget to check out our Giveaways page for a chance to win an iTunes Gift Card and Amazon Gift Card!
"The institute claims that the iPad 4 is not [an] effective technological evolution [compared to] the iPad 3 or 'New iPad', characterizing [a] sort of "planned obsolescence". In practice, the accusation is that the Apple iPad 3 could have reached the shelves with the characteristics presented in the fourth generation - a processor, a connector and a camera a bit more advanced."

"That's just fantastic, Brazil!" This is not Brazil, but one company that happens to be in the country. Furthermore, according to @TechLinhas, the company doesn't even know about this lawsuit, wich just tends to be a hoax to begin with.
ReplyDeleteThat very well could be the case. And I did not mean to imply that Brazil was the guilty party. I have made corrections to reflect this :)
